Employee Health
Employee will monitor how they feel and if exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms or has a temperature above 100 the employee must stay home. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/sick-with-2019-ncov-fact-sheet.pdf
Should an employee or patron become sick while at the library they will be sent home immediately (or placed in a separate area until a way home is provided). CDC cleaning and disinfection recommendations will follow. With a confirmed case of COVID-19 all people that were in contact with the sick person in the last 3 days will be notified.
Employees will notify the director if they have a sick family member at home with COVID-19
Sanitation
Library material will be quarantined for 3 days. See job procedures.
High touch areas such as door handles, light switches, counters, will be sanitized several times a day.
Copy machine, fax and patron computers will be sanitized after each use.
Employee’s work area will be disinfected at the end of their shifts.
Employees will respect personal working spaces and not use co-worker’s desk, computer or workspace.
Leave doors open as much as possible.
Employee and Patron Personal Hygiene
Hand washing stressed. Soap, water and paper towels in bathrooms will be available at all times.
Hand sanitizer may be offered at door if available.
Wash hands after touching contaminated items and frequently thorough out the day; especially before eating. Gloves will be reserved for touching potential contaminated items: books and papers to be faxed or copied or using cleaning with harsh chemicals. Employees will be trained on how to properly remove gloves.
Handwashing signs will be posted around library. Handwashing signs showing prober procedures will be posted by sinks.
Anyone entering library must wash hands (or use sanitizer) upon enter.
Social Distancing
Practice social distancing. Stay 6 ft. away from others as much as possible.
Wear masks when working within 6 ft. of another person; patron or other staff member. Employees will be trained on the proper way to remove and sanitize their cloth mask. Masks will be available for patrons that don’t have any.
Computers and seating areas will be arranged for social distancing.
A barrier will be installed at the circulation desk.
